The Seamstress
The Seamstress by Jane Wagman, Goldsmith’s College, University of London Umatic, 6 minutes Third Prize Animation
As the Seamstress daydreams, her mind wanders away from her sewing, and into a world
of myth and metaphor, in which symbols of ancient gods and goddesses merge and mingle
with modern presentation to weave a complex digital cloth of fantasy. Original music was
composed based on ancient Greek tuning systems. Jane Wagman studied sculpture at the
Camberwell College of Art before attending the University of London. She recently
finished a 10 minute animation, The Foot Tunnel, commissioned by the BBC.
