His family sleeping in the bathroom to avoid sporadic gunshots from the street, Antonio, a
seven year-old boy living in Guayaquil, Ecuador, decides to crawl out the balcony to
relieve himself. What he witnesses will change his life forever. Marco A.
Martinez-Galarce , born in Guayaquil, came to the United States at 15 with his family
when his father was blacklisted by the ruling military junta. He has also studied at the
University of California at Santa Cruz. The Pissing Rain is based on his personal
experience.
