Greener by Mark Osborne, California Institute of the Arts 16mm, 11 minutes First Prize
Animation
A tale of two characters safely, yet smotheringly, confined inside a frighteningly complex
support system of their own creation. Greener utilizes a variety of techniques, including
clay, stop-motion, traditional drawn animation and live action to represent the many stages
of the protagonist’s journey. Mark Osborne studied art at the Pratt Institute before
transferring to CalArts. He has worked as a designer for E! Entertainment Television, and
recently co-directed a music video for ‘Weird-Al’ Yankovic.
