minutes Experimental
Rule of Thumb derives its name from an old legal doctrine that authorized a man to beat
his wife with a stick, as long the stick was no thicker than his thumb. Michelle Bauer,
fascinated by the emotions and anger of love, and fueled by the experience of violence in
personal relationships, seeks to communicate the complexities of these emotions through
video.
