Through home movies and stark images of childhood, Morningtide explores a young
woman’s memories of loss and longing. Birgitte Mortensen, originally from Aarhus,
Denmark, has resided in the U.S. since 1988. She holds a degree in Cinema Studies and
Video Production from Copenhagen University. Maria Rodriguez is a
Colombian/Irish-American filmmaker and MFA candidate in film and video production at
Temple. Morning Tide has won several awards, including a regional Student Academy
Award in the experimental category.
