Hazlo Por Cuba (Do It For Cuba)

is a thirteen-minute experimental documentary shot in Havana, Cuba

that explores street life within the context of Havana’s diverse urbanism and architectural styles. The film’s title derives from one of the ubiquitous government billboards found throughout Cuba and translates literally as ‘Do it for Cuba’. With increasing tourist development, Havana faces the inevitable consequences of urban change. The film aesthetically documents daily Havana life as it unfolds in the shadow of a rich architectural heritage, revealing the human relationships that give meaning to the rapidly changing architectural landscape.
