In 1994, the Unhcd States passed Iegislation which militarized the US-Mexico border. “Death on a Friendly Border” shows the toll this policy has taken on the lives of poor migrants who depend on crossing for their livelihood, lt focuses on a poor Oaxacan village where subsistence is no longer possible, and the majority of men have migrated to the US; and on one 19 year-old woman’s deadly journey to follow her husband.
